Many universities and higher educational institutions in Israel offer Master’s degree programs where the entire study is completed in English. Duration and Language of Master’s Degree Courses in Israel

Postgraduate programs which include thesis take place over a span of 2 or more years. Executive MBA tracks are organised in one year programs which do not include a thesis. Hebrew as well as English medium programs are available at postgraduate level in Israeli higher educational institutions. 

Entrance/Test Requirements for Master’s Degree Courses in Israel 

English Proficiency: As most postgraduate programs are in English, candidates who do not come from English speaking nations should be able to demonstrate proficiency in English through tests such as TOEFL. The level of undergraduate grades obtained by the student plays an important role in opening doors to a postgraduate degree. Students also have to undergo interviews in such programs. 

Admission Criteria: Applicants for Master’s of Science programs must possess an average of above 85. Such programs which require thesis have admission committees which consider previous personal projects. MBA programs need an average of 80 or more and candidates must submit GRE/GMAT scores in such application forms. 

The criteria for admission to postgraduate programs is as diverse as the type of courses available. Candidates should possess an undergraduate average score of 80 or more in order to qualify for admission to postgraduate courses. For subjects of the Social Sciences such as sociology and psychology, students must also clear an interview.

MA programs include topics such as Jewish History and Israeli Culture. These are well formulated programs. 

MSc and LLM Courses: Students can also opt for Masters in Science or MSc courses which provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge in numerous scientific disciplines. MD programs last for a duration of 4 years for students completing their pre-med undergraduate degrees before commencing studies in Israel. These programs are generally in collaboration with American med schools. They are designed to suit the US curriculum. Certain Israeli institutions offer LL.M programs where master’s degree can be attained in numerous specialisations such as Patent Law, International Law, International Business and Human Rights. Certain LL.M programs can be completed in one year while others require two years of studies.

Admission Process: Just as the admission criteria differ, so does the procedure. Universities charge between USD 12,000 to 18,000 for postgraduate studies. For a one year MBA course, the tuition is typically around USD 32,000. This does not include housing expenses which cost around USD 6000 to 8000.

All academic institutions provide scholarship programs associated with previous academic achievements. State of Israel as well as private funding agencies offer financial aid for students from international shores. Some institutions also offer free studies which are full time and students cannot work while they study if they opt for such programs.
